Hilton Canary Wharf (Concept)

New build

A 241 key new build extension to the existing hotel. Located in London's CBD with proximity to the heart of Canary Wharf's bustling business, café and shopping scene & only 15 minutes from London City Airport. Sitting right on the South Quay of West India Docks surrounded by the tall skyscrapers of the financial district.

Client Brief

To design a sophisticated & contemporary new executive wing to adjoin to the existing hotel. Although not alienating tourists, the hotel must be designed with the business client in mind as this will be its majority guest. Fully functional to fulfil all business needs, including meeting rooms & business centre, executive check-in, executive lounge & buffet area & guestrooms of varying standards. The design should reflect the nature of Canary Wharf & what it represents.

Design Approach

From point of entry to point of exit the design experience flows from space to space with each finish & pattern picking up on the hotels environment. The tall, linear elements of the surrounding architecture has been explained through a series of horizontal arch elements in the guestrooms, a series of angled mirrors in the lobby & picking up on the nature/green element in the lounge space. The material selection ranges from a subtle colour palette in the public areas to more striking contrast colours in the various guestroom types. All fabrics luxurious to the touch, including velvets & mohair to heavyweight linens, all adding comfort & sophistication to your busy day.
